Orthodontics as a whole, with a particular interest in treatment planning and in explaining it to the patient.

Good treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis and a clear treatment plan. Keeping the explanations simple, accessible and illustrated allows the patient to understand the alternatives offered, why they are proposed and how they will unfold. A patient who understands their treatment accepts it more readily and cooperates better.

Patient approach

Evidence-based orthodontics. After more than forty-five years, Becker & Associés carries the responsibility of maintaining a high standard, in diagnosis as much as in the results achieved.

Advances in technology now make it easier than ever to align teeth. Aligning them is not enough, however: the aesthetic result may come quickly, but if the occlusion is not stable, the result will not necessarily last. The image chosen is that of a jigsaw — the teeth must be straight, but they must also fit together perfectly. It is this functional stability that makes the difference over the long term, and it takes several years of specialist training.

Motivation and commitment

The original ambition, at around fifteen, was to take over the family business — which meant becoming a dentist, then a specialist in orthodontics in order to do so credibly. The discipline became a passion over the course of those studies, and it still provides the motivation day to day.

Each year the Angle Society of Europe brings around eighty orthodontists together for a full week, to present cases, exchange views and challenge one another. It gathers the practitioners who have moved the speciality forward; the stated ambition is to contribute to that in turn.

Personal side

A deep attachment to human relationships and to sharing, in the conviction that trust is the basis of any lasting collaboration — whether with patients, with staff or with partners.

The philosophy is a win-win one: everyone should come out of the relationship better off. When people share a common vision and work transparently, the results benefit all of them. The best successes are those where each person moves forward with the others, and not at their expense.
